An average that speeds up in a trend and slows down in chop.
It measures how much of the movement went in one direction versus back and forth, and adjusts its own speed to that.
Worked out by the same code the builder uses, on stored daily candles. Move a setting and the line moves with it. This is what happened, not what will happen.
Gate: Price close is above Kaufman adaptive MA(10).
Adapting is not predicting. In a market that flips between trend and chop it is late at both ends of the switch.
No indicator predicts the market on its own. Build the rule, then test it on years of history with fees included. Try TradeXtool free for 14 days.
