An EMA of an EMA, corrected so it lags less than a plain EMA.
A normal EMA always lags: it is an average of the past. DEMA subtracts part of that lag by taking 2×EMA minus the EMA of the EMA.
You get a line that turns earlier than an EMA of the same length.
Worked out by the same code the builder uses, on stored daily candles. Move a setting and the line moves with it. This is what happened, not what will happen.
Gate: Price close is above DEMA(21).
Less lag means more whipsaw. In a sideways market DEMA flips direction more often than the EMA you replaced it with.
